Braider terms
Version 1.0. These terms apply to braiders who offer their services through Braida. Customers booking through Braida agree to separate terms.
1. What Braida is
Braida is a marketplace. We introduce you to clients, take bookings and deposits on your behalf, and pay you out. We do not employ you, supervise your work, or contract with your clients for the service itself — the braiding agreement is between you and your client. You set your own prices, your own hours, and decide which bookings you accept.
You are responsible for your own tax, superannuation, insurance and any registrations or licences your work requires.
2. Who can join
You must be at least 18, legally entitled to work in Australia, and able to provide the services you list. The details you give us at enrolment — your name, contact details and address — must be accurate and kept up to date. Your address is used to verify who you are and to plan travel for mobile bookings; clients only ever see your suburb.
3. Verification and background checks
Identity. Identity verification is handled by Stripe Identity. Your document goes directly to Stripe and is checked by them; Braida receives only the result. We do not collect, see or store a copy of your identity document.
Working With Children Check. You must have a current WWCC on file before you can take any booking for a client under 18. Styles you offer to children are hidden from clients, and cannot be booked, whenever your check is missing or has expired — wherever the appointment takes place.
Police clearance. You must have a current police clearance on file before you can offer Luxmobile, where you travel to a client's home. Luxmobile is hidden from clients, and cannot be booked, whenever that clearance is missing or has expired.
You must tell us promptly if any check is refused, suspended, cancelled or expires, and you must not accept a booking that a check you no longer hold would have covered.
4. Your profile and photos
Photos you upload must be of work you personally did, and you must have the right to publish them — including the permission of anyone identifiable in them. You grant Braida a non-exclusive licence to display your photos, business name and profile to promote your services on the platform. That licence ends when your profile is removed, except where we have already used material in published advertising.
We remove location metadata from photos when you upload them, so the place a photo was taken is not published with it.
5. Bookings, deposits and cancellations
Clients confirm a booking by paying a deposit, which Braida holds. The balance is paid at or after the appointment. A client who cancels outside the cancellation window has their deposit refunded; inside it, the deposit is forfeited and passed to you, less commission.
If you cancel a confirmed booking, the client's deposit is refunded in full. Cancelling repeatedly or at short notice affects your standing on the platform and may end your access to it.
6. Commission and payouts
Braida charges commission on the service price of each completed booking. The current rate is shown in your portal and applies to bookings made after any change to it. Commission is never shown to your clients.
Payouts are made to the Stripe Connect account you set up, after the appointment has been completed and the payout window has elapsed. You must complete Stripe's onboarding and identity requirements before any payout can be sent; until then your earnings are held, not lost.
7. Client addresses and privacy
For a Luxmobile booking, you are given the client's street address shortly before the appointment — not when the booking is made. You may use that address only to attend the appointment. You must not keep it, share it, or contact the client at it afterwards.
We handle your own personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. We do not sell it. Background check documents you upload are stored privately and are visible only to Braida staff who need them.
8. How you conduct yourself
Turn up when you said you would, do the work you advertised, and treat clients and their homes with care. You must not take payment for a Braida booking outside the platform, ask a client to cancel and rebook privately, or use client contact details for anything other than the booking they relate to.
Ratings and reviews are the clients' own. We remove a review only where it breaches our content rules, not because it is unfavourable.
9. Reviewing, pausing and ending your profile
Your profile is reviewed by our team before it goes live, and nothing is published until then. We may pause or end your access if you breach these terms, if a required check lapses, or if we have a reasonable safety concern. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right.
You can leave at any time. Bookings already confirmed must still be honoured or cancelled properly, and payouts owed to you are still paid.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Subject to that, Braida is not liable for the braiding services themselves, for what happens at an appointment, or for a client's conduct. You are responsible for your own work and for holding appropriate insurance.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we make a material change we publish a new version and ask you to accept it in your portal. Your earlier acceptance stays on your record, and the version you agreed to applies to bookings made before the change.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia.
